Recruiting and prescreening assistance-based on the employer’s job description, experienced Employment and Training Workers will seek out potential candidates for your position. This staff can also conduct county-wide recruitments. Prescreening is done to ensure only the best suited candidates are available for employer interviews. In addition staff can assist with resumes and interviewing tips.
On site recruitment at the WorkforceNapa Career Center-WorkforceNapa has a well equipped Career Center that can serve as your location to hold small to large recruitments. WorkforceNapa will post the recruitment on the monthly calendar that is seen by many job seekers – and serves as an invitation to them to attend your event. Staff will also explain the One-Stop services available to all job seekers and the many programs to aid them.
Subsidized Employment-Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding, WorkforceNapa can pay up to 80% of the wages with an employer 20% match. This match can be met in many ways. Assistance in developing internships (Work Experience)-Many people just need some basic job skills. Some job seekers are re-entering the market after a long absence from employment others may have never worked before. This program provides individuals with basic job skills while aiding employers with some extra help. There is no cost to the employer for this valuable learning experience.
Skills assessments of potential employees-Skills assessments are available through the Career Center. These can provide employers with an overall view of potential candidate’s skills, abilities and interests. The value of assessment information to an employer in the hiring process is that the tool can match a candidate to specific needs of a position.
Customized Training-Customized Training is provided based on the needs of the employer. As an example, ABC Construction needs 10 employees that will be involved in assembly. WorkforceNapa can aid in scheduling the training event, pay for a trainer, and provide a training location. The employer customizes the training to meet the needs of the project.
